About Me

My photo
So, I needed a place to mentally purge all of my adventures as an up and coming artist in this world. Here I am! My name is Ashley, but you can call me Rabbit. I'm very excited to meet new people and fellow artists who are overcoming obstacles in their quest at becoming a success in the art industry.

I've been browsing through a bunch of my old sketches lately. Sadly, nothing jumps out at me like it once did. Even some of my more recent sketches aren't anything to brag about. People tell me I'm too hard on myself, but I strongly disagree. The vibrancy just isn't there. I'm thinking I need to put more heart into them...I need to get back into painting more. Painting really does something for me that Copic markers and pens just...well, doesn't.

The paintings above were both done while I was still in high school. I was seventeen years old. I'm twenty two now, and I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. It's only when I look back at my old stuff that I see how much I've grown as an artist. I guess the hard work pays off, huh?

I did this little sketch for my boyfriend not too long ago. I stopped drawing for some time...I guess I got a little rusty. She's not as symmetrical as I'd like her to be. Oh, well...realize your mistakes and IMPROVE! Gotta work on a tattoo design for tomorrow...hopefully I'll finally get the chance to use my machine. Check back soon!

Morning Star

These past three months have been very hectic. I've been juggling my tattoo apprenticeship, work, and about five different paintings...all while struggling to maintain my normal running routine and a relationship with my boyfriend. I'm a very busy little girl! Somehow I've still found some time to throw in a few misc. projects...such as a small mural in my room. Not quite finished yet, but it's coming along. The quote is from Flunk's 'Morning Star.' I highly recommend Flunk to those of you with an interest in Trip Hop. Flunk's got this amazing way of bringing out the passion in me. Anyway, won't ramble on any longer. I'll be posting periodically from here on out. More to come! xoxo,
